Tuner lugs v. stock lugs???

I am about to put my stock wheels back on my 'teg for the winter. I was told not to use the tuner lugs that I am using with my DTMs, but instead to use the stock lugnuts with the stock wheels. Why is that? Is there some reason why the lugs I am currently using will not work with the stock wheels?

not sure if places like Pepboys/grandauto/kragen will have any but you can call. You don't have to go to an Acura dealer either, any Honda one should do. Also you might be able to find some at tire/wheel shops. The stock lugs are M12X1.5 thread pattern w/rounded acorn type seat. Also what year GSR wheels do you have? Cuz I think the 94-95 and 97+ wheels have closed ended lugnuts (because the lug is exposed) where the 96GSR's have open ended lugs.

Sammy, do not use your 'tuner' lugs w/ stock wheels. The stock lugs have an acorn? seat whereas the tuner lugs are a taper seat. Take off one of the tuner lugs and compare it to a stocker, you'll see what I mean.

Thanks. If I can't find my original lugs, do I have to buys some from Acura or can I pick something up at an auto parts store?

i got 6 sets of Honda lug nuts sitting here, if you need some let me know! ill send em to you.

Reason tuner lugs wont work.

If you look at tuner lugs the shape of the place where the lug nut goes is in the shape of a "V" this is a conical seat lug nut and if you look on your DTM wheels it is also a "V" thus you get full contact with your lug nuts when tightend down.

Ok now look at the stock lug nuts, they are ball seat lug nuts thus if you look into the rim you will see that it is also in the same shape. this is to allow full contact between the wheel and lug nut..
